Course Description/Purpose:
This CE-accredited activity was filmed during the 2022 Global Aesthetics Conference. An emerging use of fillers (and to some degree, botulinumtoxinA) is taking place in the field of sexual wellness.  Aesthetic and Regenerative medicine specialties, as well as some dermatology and plastic surgery practices, include a focus on a person’s overall health and well-being and sexual health plays a very important part. This activity will discuss the role of injectables in sexual wellness with a lecture given by Dr. Jessie Cheung.

To complete this activity and receive credit, the participant should:

  • Review the materials on accreditation information, target audience, learning objectives, and disclosure information
  • Complete the entire self-study
  • Complete the post-test and evaluation/claim form

Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Define the range of non-surgical procedures involved in sexual health and their benefits to patients.
  • Identify potential candidates for penile girth enhancement and compare and contrast fillers for male sexual enhancement by reviewing pertinent clinical studies.
  • Develop an understanding of the physiology behind why fillers aid in the treatment of premature ejaculation and summarize emerging data for filler use for men with premature ejaculation. 
  • Explain the physiological effects of BTX for erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation and summarize data for BTX for functional (erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation), and aesthetic (penile retraction) male sexual wellbeing. 
  • Review methods to discuss vaginal laxity, relate it to sexual wellness and summarize data on the efficacy and safety of dermal fillers for vaginal rejuvenation.

Target Audience
This CE-accredited activity is designed and intended to educate physicians and extenders who treat men and women seeking improvement in their sexual health, particularly through the use of injectables. Specialties include dermatologists, plastic surgeons, cosmetic surgeons, and aesthetic/regenerative medicine clinicians.

 

Continuing Education

There are no fees for participating in and receiving credit for this activity. During the period January 2023 through January 2025, participants must 1) read the learning objectives and faculty disclosures, 2) study the educational activity, 3) complete the posttest by recording the best answer to each question, and 4) complete the evaluation form.

A statement of credit will be issued only upon receipt of a completed activity evaluation form and a completed posttest with a score of 80% or better. Statements of credit will be issued at the end of the program.
