Course Description/Purpose:

This CME/CE accredited educational initiative is designed to help core aesthetic clinicians understand the diverse applications of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers and how the use of a methodical, comprehensive aesthetic evaluation can help achieve more satisfactory patient outcomes.

The program will address the aesthetic evaluation, the patient consult and include a special presentation on injection anatomy. The faculty will review the differences among the HA fillers and how each can be utilized to achieve the best aesthetic effect with an emphasis on volumizing and reshaping the face. Live patient injection demonstrations will enhance the learning experience.

To complete this activity and receive credit, the participant should:

  • Review the materials on accreditation information, target audience, learning objectives, and disclosure information
  • Complete the entire self-study activity
  • Complete the post-test (passing score 80%) and evaluation/claim form

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Perform an aesthetic evaluation utilizing a comprehensive approach to global beauty that takes into consideration each patient’s beauty potential as well as the impact of facial aging.  
  • Compare and contrast the characteristics of HA soft tissue fillers and identify their best uses in all areas of the face: upper, mid and lower.
  • Identify injection techniques with HA soft tissue fillers that have demonstrated safe and satisfactory patient outcomes for facial enhancement and/or rejuvenation and learn how to implement them in clinical practice.

Target Audience

This CME/CE activity is primarily intended and designed to educate dermatologists, facial plastic surgeons, oculoplastic surgeons, plastic surgeons, Physician’s Assistants, ARNPs and RNs whose practice includes filler injections.  There are no prerequisites to the activity.


Continuing Education

Physicians: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of USF Health and Medical Education Advocates.  USF Health is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
